Normally, the sides of a scissors lift platform are straight. This side or “skirt” helps give the platform rigidity and strength. When the lift is lowering, the straight skirt can become a shear or pinch point if it lowers adjacent to a structure or into a pit.The bevel toeguard does require some changes be made to the lift in order to accommodate the option. Those changes are as follows: The minimum size platform must be increased by 4” per edge (8” total) to allow the platform skirt to clear the legs and baseframe as it slants inward. The low height of the lift must be increased to a minimum of 8” to accommodate the length of the Bevel Toe Guard. Also the power unit becomes external from the lift to ease maintenance and lifting eyes are provided to aid installation in the pit.

Description
Summary
High Rise Backsaver Lifts are stable, rugged, and proven machines with years of use in several industries and applications.
These units feature a small foot print, low pressure hydraulics for safe operation and maintenance as well as other safety features such as
built-in maintenance chocks, and
heavy-duty braided hoses for burst protection. These units use electrically driven hydraulic cylinders to provide the lifting force which can range from 1,000-12,000 pounds depending on the model.
Table top sizes and lift heights are many to fit any applications that might arise, even where foot print size is at a premium.
Uses:
Cargo Lifts
Work Platforms
Mezzanine Lifts
Automated Palletizing Systems
Tooling Positioners
Additional Options
- Large Power Unites
Higher horspower motors and hydraulics used to increase travel speed. - Air Motor Driven Power Units
For use where electrical actuation is undesirable and shop air is available; meets explosion proof requirements. - DC Power Units
Direct Current power units for use with battery power. - External Power Unit
Power unit is connected to lift only by hydraulic hoses. - Cross Check Valving
Locks oil in cylinders to eliminate deflection caused by oil transfer. Used in certain side loading applications. - Power Units Ful JIC Style Continuous Running Power Units
Continuous running power unit built to JIC specifications. - No Coast ValvingFast acting hydraulic valving, which decreases upward coast, for use where more precise positioning is desired.
- Minimum Downdrift ValvingNear positive shut-off valving for use where platform must maintain position for extended periods of time.
- Continuous Running Power Units
Heavy-duty power units with special cooling features. Power unit runs continuously, and valves are actuated to activate lift. Used for extremely high jogs or cycles. - Double Acting CylindersFor special applications where it is necessary to provide both power up and power down.
- Air Bag Actuation
Inflatable air bag provides limited travel lift actuation. Used where electrical power is not desirable or where only two positions are required. - Continuous Duty Power Units
Specially designed power units with motors capable of many motor starts per hour. - Screw Jack
Lift is actuated by gear motor driven worm or ball screw. For more precise, repetitive positioning or where hydraulics are not desired. - Hot and Cold Temperature Hydraulic Packaging
Special sealing and hydraulic fluids for use in hot or cold atmospheres. - Velocity Fuse(s)/Excess Flow Protectors
Hydraulic control prevents table free fall in the unlikely event of massive hydraulic failure. - Automatic Leveling Package
Optical sensing control positions table and stops travel at any preset height. - Maintained Contact Controls
Up/down/emergency stop push button control which stops travel automatically at preset level. - Visual or Audible Signals
Lights or bells used to warn personnel when lift is in operation - Travel Limit Switch(es)
Electrical switch stops travel, prevents overtravel, provides height positioning, and can activate associated equipment. Should be used with mechaniccal stop or fixed lowered height. - Narrow Base
Reduced width base to fit special needs. Must be lagged for stability. - Wide Base
Increased width base provides extra stability for wider loads. - Sub Bases
Extra base unit increases low height of standard designs. Provides a positive stop at predetermined down level. Frequently used for integration with automated systems. - Lifting Eyes
Steel eye bolts allow table to be lifted with a hoist. - Lag Plates
Premantly attached plates or angles with bolt holes for lagging a table to the floor. - Increased Roll Over Capacity
Structural strengthening of table support for use in pit installations where loaded trucks or transporters must travers the platform when it is in a lowered position. - Powered Travers
Hydraulic motor drives two wheels. - Vee Groove Wheels
Steel wheels with groove for use with inverted angle or Vee track to provide unidirectional movement. - Flanged Wheels
Steel wheels with flange for use on rail tracks. - Push Bar
Hand height bar for easier movement. - Manual or Powered Turntables
Bearing mounted and supported turntables for easy repositioning of loads. - Tilting Tops
30°, 45°, and 90° tilting platforms for postitioning loads. - Access Plate
Removable or hinged plate allows easier access to power unit and hydraulics in the lowered position. - Anti-Skid Platform SurfacesDiamon tread platform surface or abrasive type paint provide for greater traction and reduce slipping.
- Vee Cradle Platform
Vee shaped platform provides centering and secure handling of curved, round, or cylindrical loads. - Fork Pockets
Fork pockets allow entire unit to be easily lifted and moved by a fork truck. - Stainless Steel Platform
Corrosion and damage resistant surface for use with corrosive material. - Wheel Chock
Counter-weighted wheel chock will automatically engage as lift raises and prevent the lift from rolling. - Special Paint
Customer specified paint formulations and colors. Great for corrosion protection. - Cam Follower Rollers
Low friction leg rollers for increased efficiency and longer operating life.
